The mares arrived last night 5-12-09 at 9pm. They were very
peaceful when they go off the trailer. They grazed, ate hay and
drank some water while the FHHR volunteers watched and took a
great sigh of relief. The East Coast load of 12 reached their
destination safe, relaxed and well fed and watered. THANK YOU
Bryan Reeser from Double Shoe and Kristi from The Best Horse
House in Hastings ! Your dedication to these horses safety paid off
for them.

We know your trek was difficult and exhausting. You brought 12
horses to safety clear across the United States and now you can go
home and take a great sigh of relief....The Deed is Done !

We hope this amazing save will helps raise awareness about the
plight of the Western State Mustangs here on the East Coast.
small amt of Legends Mare and Foal Pellets. We named the
black mare Cinder-Ella and we still call the brown mare Tain't
....cause she tain't No Cow.....as she was found one day lost
from her herd and hanging out with a cow herd. This is the pet
name Kristi and Bryan had for her on delivery.

Tain't cain't chew too well....she has problems with the pellets.
She seems to eat hay and grass just fine but she obviously
needs some dental work done.

Cinder has elf feet and needs a good trim. Improved nutrition
and care will bring a big improvement in coats and hoofs. We
will work with handling before teeth, grooming and feet are
tended too.

Both are friendly and curious. Cinder ate from my hand and the
bucket as I held it for her breakfast. Tain't had no problem
doing the same but she just couldn't chew. She stuck her lip in
the air and walked away to nibble on something that didn't hurt.
I tried adding water but she didn't care much for that either.
Mineral and salt block are available for them.

They were both curious about he wheelbarrow and pick. Maybe
they have eaten out of a wheel barrow? As it true with most
rescue horses their past is a mystery and its our job to put the
pieces of the puzzle together.....more updates to come !
Good-Bye neck tags . . . . .
Hello to a new life on the East Coast !
